Samsung NC310 netbook gets a price Pictures
The 10.1-inch Samsung NC310 netbook weighs just 1.23kg with an unspecified Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, WiBRO, Bluetooth 2.0, 3-in-1 card reader, 1.3MP camera, 3 USB ports and chiclet styled keyboard.Samsung didn’t exactly skip over a lot of details when it announced its new NC310 netbook earlier today, but it looks like it’s now clearing up a few remaining tidbits, and dishing out some new, polished up press shots of the long-lasting netbook for good measure. While there’s unfortunately still no official US pricing just yet, the NC310 (or N310 as it’s also being called) will apparently demand £399 (or $577) when it hits the UK in May, at which point it’ll only be available in basic black, with blue to follow shortly thereafter (no word on the remaining colors). As you can see above, the official shots also reveal a bit more of a resemblance to some of Sony’s high-end VAIOs than Samsung’s current netbooks, though you’ll of course still get Samsung’s trademark glossy, piano black bezel.I think this is a really beautiful design, and I really like the chicklet keyboard.

HP Pavilion dv9500 and Nvidia 8600M GS failure Pictures
I purchased an HP Pavilion dv9500. In April 2008 the Nvidia 8600M inside it failed and HP replaced it under warranty. Now,my 2nd Nvidia 8600M GS has failed. Symptoms include artifacts, texture corruption in 3D apps, and a complete and total system lock up which can only be fixed via a hard reboot. Artifacts persist unless I leave the laptop off for an around 20 minutes, at which point I can boot it into safe mode without fear of locking up. I have already reinstalled Direct X and installed the latest drivers for the video card. I spoke with (edit: woops, HP, not Nvidia) and they want me to pay $400 for a new motherboard and 8600M GS. I’ve seen on multiple sites* that there is a major problem with the 8600M GS failure rate.
Dell has instituted a plan to provide an extended warranty to effected users (http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/18/d…-nvidia-gpu-i/)
Is there any word of HP doing something similar? I attempted to bring the issue up with the technician I spoke with but she ignored it. I spoke with her for around an hour and got nowhere. Any advice any of you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
PROBLEM SOLVED
Got same problem all of a sudden.
After searching some forums i came across a solution that really worked.
There’s some sort of a problem with this chip(dont ask me how and why)
So the solution:
1.Remove Heatsink(cpu-vga)
2.Remove nearby pcie wifi or/and bluetooth.
3.Get a hair drier(YES A HAIR DRIER)
4.aim the heat stream direct on the vga chip(aprox. 3cm away) for 5 mins
5.WORKING VGA CHIP AGAIN
Mine works now im actually posting this from my laptop
I’ll get the link with from the original poster.
Although he hasnt given specific details on why this fixes the problem but as far as i get it, through time and heat levels some of the chip’s pins when hot must not have contact(along with shocks)
Thank god i saved my laptop

Lenovo Ideapad u330 Laptop with 13.3″ LED Backlit LCD,Montevina 2GHz 1066mhz,Hybrid Graphics – HDMI,3 GB DDR3 SDRAM memory,320GB 5400rpm hard drive, weight 3.9 Pounds. No discs from Lenovo. Just the laptop with one-key recovery option. I installed Vista Ultimate, had a previous key and it works fine. You lose the ability of OneKey recovery from inside Vista, but you can still reset the laptop to original configuration by booting the laptop with the recovery key (as long as you do not delete the hidden partition and the D: drive on the laptop). They use about 50 gb of the 320gb HDD, so you still have about 250gb of HDD to play with.Currently installing OSx86 using the Kalway CD as an experiment. Seems to install fine.

Buy Dell XPS M1330 Laptop Picture
I bought Dell XPS M1330 Laptop when first released. The main board has been replaced 4 times allready. Last replacment was a week ago. Unfortunatley he’ll be back this week. The last reapair included a new led screen, but the old screen was better. intermittenly the LCD flashes a verticle 3inch bar/lines on screen. Thank goodness I have the full warranty so all repairs are covered. Dell tech has an office setup at my work, knows the routine allready. sad but true!If you feel confidant, I’d suggest the copper mod. Depends on how long your warranty is for though.Good luck with this one either way!

Durabook D15RP Laptop unboxing and hands-on Picture
GammaTech sent along a new Durabook D15RP Laptop to be part of a little feature we’re brewing, but we thought we’d go ahead and give you a quick peek at the thing first. It wasn’t quite as gratuitously packaged as the Toughbook we also recently aped, but upon seeing the logo on that box we admit to thinking for a moment we’d accidentally received a set of fresh kicks from K-Swiss. So far using it feels like using a real laptop, as opposed to the sensation of typing on an ammo case you get with the Panasonic, but we’ll leave the full comparisons for another day.I hope this ‘little feature’ involves brutalizing defenceless electrical goods.

Gigabyte M1028 netbook hits the FCC Picture
Gigabyte M1028 netbook have a 10 inch touchscreen display,a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU,up to 2GB of RAM, a max 250GB hard drive, and a 4 cell, 4500mAh battery or a 6 cell, 7650mAh battery. It comes with an 802.11a/b/g WiFi module and options for Bluetooth, 3.5G wireless broadband, and WiMAX.Now sporting the “CafeBook” moniker, the netbook appears to be mostly identical to the T1028 Touch Note model that made its debut at CeBIT which, as you can glimpse above, takes things a bit farther than the norm by opting for a convertible tablet form.Too bad it has an idiotic glossy screen.Oh, Apple already “learned” to adopt that from shoddy second-tier vendors.

ASUS N81Vp Laptop Review Pictures
ASUS N81Vp Laptop with 14.1” TFT Widescreen display(1366×768),Intel Core 2 Duo processor T9550 (2.66GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1066MHz FSB),4GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz System Memory,ATI Radeon Mobility 4650 1GB GDDR3 Memory,320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive,Weight: 5lbs,6-cell battery, run Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1, 32-bit),Price about $1,399.Anyway ASUS N81Vp Laptop screen is REALLY sweet also the build being solid was no surprise.Ports Galore on this, a really a great time to like Laptops,6000 3D Mark STOCK is great now lets see whos gonna pump these things out to 8000+.That battery life is really good considering that is a power processor and a stock battery. Give it a P series CPU and 9 cell your looking at close to 4 hours.I like this model a lot, it has a few small quirks that keep me from changing over from my bigger beefier g50v. For a 14″ though this thing is loaded and priced to kill.

Clevo 18.4-inch M980NU gaming laptop Picture
Today we popped in at Clevo‘s booth to snap a few shots of its mammoth M980NU. While the girth was impossible to not notice, the palm rest, keyboard and top control panel were downright ritzy.Powered by an Intel Core 2 Extreme X9100 3.06GHz processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M graphic card with 1GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. The Clevo M980NU gaming laptop has a 18.4-inch 1920×1080p Full HD display, WiFi, an ExpressCard slot, and HDMI output. From first hand experience, I have to agree that 1920×1080 is a bit vertically challenged as far as real estate goes. Except when watching a Blu-ray movie.
