Dell Studio 17 Battery doesn’t even last during 1 movie, its just very energy consuming. I use the laptop with it plugged in 80% of the time and do my best to ensure the laptop is cool. I always thought the best way to keep your battery aside, is to keep it completely empty, but some guy said 40 perentage is the best energy level to keep it stored. NEVER drain the battery to nill. Shut off the computer at 5% to be safe. Do not let the battery get hot. If your laptop is badly designed the battery sits next to hot components and then dramatic battery death like you experienced is expected. If the above is true, remove the battery when your not using it. If you know you don’t need the batt then store it in a dry room temperature place at 40 or 50% charge.

HP Envy 15 Battery Life that fits flush with the machine is going to be smaller than the standard battery that would go on a 17-inch dell, that is also thicker. It makes more sense comparing this thing’s battery life to something like an Alienware M15x or low-end M17x. It just doesn’t make sense comparing the battery life of a Core 2 Duo, Geforce 9600M GT equivalent notebook to a Core i7, Radeon 4850 or GeForce 9800M GTX equivalent. If it’s going to be very high performance AND small you’re going to lose battery life. If it’s going to get pretty good battery life AND high performance you’re going to lose out on size. 5h batery life would make it the perfect choice, but i was told you can get up to 7 or 8 hours with it. They have it on the Envy’s at work.
