HP G60 is great laptop for everyday use.  It does everything that it was advertised as being able to do. The graphics is wonderful and the brightview screen enhances the colors. Even the built in webcam works great. Only gripe is the battery lasts under 2 hours with normal use – not the 3.75 hours listed. As for the laptop, he is sleek, has a number keypad, set up was a breeze, basically you plug it in and it did everything else for you. If you are on a budget and looking for a great laptop that is high quality and reasonably priced, I really don’t think you would be sorry by purchasing HP G60. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who wants to spend approximately $500.

Samsung N150 is probably the best choice of this generation of Atom N450 1024×600 screen netbooks. The updated design is similar to the older n120, but nicer. Virtually silent fan. Great construction quality. The plastics are very high quality. Excellent keyboard. The keys are the right size, and it’s very easy to type on with just a minimal adjustment period. Matte screen. Microsoft Security Essentials is an excellent anti virus program, and it’s free. Combine with Malware Bytes you are very well covered. Previously mentioned Atheros card problems aren’t really a problem. The card only supports 2.4ghz bands (no big deal), and the connection problem I was having was a glitch in our campus wireless system which was fixed. Wireless performs just fine. I have been happy with Samsung N150 ever since. Battery life is as advertised.

Toshiba Satellite T135-S1310 is nice laptop. Full size keyboard was really a plus and I am sure glad a spent a little more for something completely useful. Toshiba Satellite T135-S1310 uses the new ultra low power dual-core Pentium processor and scores 932 on Passmark. The size of the new screens is great and 13" is a true happy medium. Keyboard works pretty well if you are a soft touch typist and the keyboard layout is just fine with lots of reused keys to get all the functions. Preloaded software was minimal and getting the laptop stripped of all the extra junk was a small task. Wireless N is much appreciated for both range and speed. Battery life seems really good 5-6 hrs with normal use. For the price Toshiba Satellite T135-S1310 was a great bargain.

HP TouchSmart TM2 can do everything I want. I’m able to play Everquest 2 on it, which is a very graphics-demanding application. Yes, the settings are turned down to medium and it can run a bit choppy at times, but it runs, and I can play it easily. Other games ran perfectly, with crisp-looking graphics. If you want to be able to play some higher-end games on a tablet, this is the one you want. The included Altec Lansing speakers are impressive for how small they are. Battery Life seems good, if not great, but no different than any other laptop out there. It would be nice if it had a physical volume control for when in tablet mode, but that’s not a big deal. In short, HP TouchSmart TM2 is a near-perfect note taking and carry everywhere machine.

Lenovo G550 is not a workhorse by any means and is ugly as only a mother could love. The plastic looks and feels as cheap as what you paid for. Think of a low end DVD player that you can pick up at Walmart for $30 dollars. This screen is great for direct viewing only. As for off viewing angles, I often laugh when people complain about this. Lenovo G550 primarily ship with Windows 7 Starter and that version is severely diminished in functionality. The keyboard is fullsize and typing in numbers on the numeric key pad is a plus for me. Lenovo G550 is considered their "value line" series so don’t buy this and expect alot and you will most likely be pleased with the performance. It’s fast and I work with multiple windows from multiple programs open and there’s never a problem.

MSI GE700 is great for watching movies in true 16:9 ratio. Screen is also really bright so you won’t miss any details. MSI GE700 has 500GB of hard disk capacity. It also has those new Intel processors that feature "hyper-threading" technology. Since Windows 7 is a system hog, a new laptop should at least have 6GB of RAM, but 4GB seems to be just fine for this machine. I can switch quickly between programs, start programs quickly, and end them quickly, too. A 500GB hard disk is just an astoundingly huge amount of storage space. There is more than enough space for photos and movies. Overall, I really like new MSI laptop MSI GE700 Laptop. I can play some graphically intense games without too many problems.

ASUS T101MT is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Keyboard looks nice. ASUS T101MT doesn’t deal very well with the switching between landscape and portrait orientations at all, it should resize windows so they fit on the screen when you switch. Keyboard okay but not great. Touchscreen sucks. The GMA 3150 is supported by the Flash beta with GPU support, and video playback should have been much better than 5 frames per second. The ASUS T101MT makes for an interesting iPad alternative that runs your Windows programs out of the gate and offers a physical keyboard built in when you need it. , I love this laptop.

Sony VAIO M look nice, type fine, really make using the keyboard any easier. Chiclet keyboards are much more attractive and its not just the looks, its the attractiveness of a keyboard that still has button push thats easy to cleans! I like the sort of raised square key as well, a moderation between the two styles. Some really need to fix up. Weight only 3.1 pound. Color with black or white. Price for £300 ($456) in the UK. I actually quite like it, it isn’t price too badly for a Vaio. I would get Sony VAIO M in black. It’s pretty sweet.

Lenovo G530 is a decent laptop and I got it at a steal of a price during a special. It was very fast after I tweaked it out and took off the Lenovo software. Actually, it was a lot faster than I expected it to be especially for a processor with 1024 of L2 cache. Runs very cool and very responsive. Dual core and enough RAM to run Windows 7. Battery life is not great– but actually better than I expected for the price. Unless you really travel a lot– so many average users should just purchase a notebook like this every two or three years. On the whole Lenovo G530 is a great laptop.

Acer Aspire One AO532h is quick. I was working in photoshop and it handled some pretty intense rendering like a full desktop replacement, especially with only 1gb or ram. The battery life is pretty fantastic and delivers on the 8+ hour promise, I tested this by going on a short road trip with my T-mobile G1 tethered for internet. It keeps cool and is almost completely silent. I purchased an older version of this exact netbook for my cousin about a month ago which influenced this purchase and Acer really made a ton of noticeable improvements. The N450 is a noticeable improvement over the N270. Acer Aspire One AO532h is a great netbook for the price. It does very well as a secondary electronic device or even a primary as long as you’re not trying to use it for massive computing purposes.
