The Samsung NB30 Pro specialized netbook has been adapted from the NB30 consumer model launched earlier this year. It maintains the free-fall sensor which automatically parks the HDD spindle, helping avoid damage to the hard drive if the netbook is dropped, a specially-designed durable casing, and the water resistant keyboard to prevent potential damage from contact with up to 50cc of spilled liquid. Samsung N150 is probably the best choice of this generation of Atom N450 1024×600 screen netbooks. The updated design is similar to the older n120, but nicer. Virtually silent fan. Great construction quality. The plastics are very high quality. Excellent keyboard. The keys are the right size, and it’s very easy to type on with just a minimal adjustment period. Matte screen. Microsoft Security Essentials is an excellent anti virus program, and it’s free. Combine with Malware Bytes you are very well covered. Previously mentioned Atheros card problems aren’t really a problem. The card only supports 2.4ghz bands (no big deal), and the connection problem I was having was a glitch in our campus wireless system which was fixed. Wireless performs just fine. I have been happy with Samsung N150 ever since. Battery life is as advertised.

Samsung Go N315 has the best combination of features and options of any of netbook available. Samsung Go N315 price for $429 from Amazon. It has a 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) matte display, powered by a 1.66GHz N450 Atom Pineview processor, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD and Windows 7 Starter. Other features include a 1.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi (b/g/n), three USB ports and a 4-cell battery good for 4.5 hours of runtime. If you need a fast laptop just for the net, then I highly recommend the Samsung Go N315. Love it!

Samsung N220 with a 10.1-inch LCD screen with 1024 by 600 resolution. Comes with the new energy efficient Intel Atom Pine Trail CPU, 1GB RAM, a 250GB HDD and Windows 7 Starter. Of course you also get the promised 11 hours of battery life. The overall performance is very good. Price tag starting from 349-399 Euros. That means we should see this netbook hit the U.S. in the sub-$500 price range. Samsung N220 netbook temporarily surfaced on the website of a French retailer, although the listing was quickly removed.

Samsung N220 running Atom N450 processor got over 10.5 hours of battery life, it still gets in a full day of computing. I think Netbooks might find a niche in the small segment of the market that would sacrifice, power for a few more hours than ULV’s, and still want a low cost. I think $300 – $350 should be at the high end $250 – $299 mid range, and $146 – $249 lower end. Getting the price down rather than increasing features should be the emphasis.

Samsung N140 has fast speed, for gaming like World of Warcraaft, etc. And long battery life, It’s not mobile if you’re chained to power cord. Touchpad is flushed and buttons are not too sensitive, for the most part they work and I plan to get a wireless mouse anyways. Overall, great product, good quality, best bang for your buck. Similarly spec’ed notebooks at 10.1″ runs around $400, this one is a no brainer if you’re looking for a netbook. I’m fairly happy with everything else.
