Dell Studio 15 media problem-Dell Laptop Review

Dell Studio 15 with 15.4 WLED display (1440×900),2.1GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100,4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz,320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM),256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450,Dell 1510 wireless-N card,Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module (2.0),6 Cell Battery.

Dell Studio 15 windows has started the eject button stays lit up and for about 5 to 10 minutes and none of the touch sensitive buttons work, then eventually the CD drive will eject what ever is in there and the light on the eject button will go off and all the buttons will work normally. I’m finding this incredibly annoying.

I talked with Dell Tech Support ealier today and had much better luck than others seemed too… I had the exact same problem many described: the eject button stayed on and the media direct touch buttons stopped working. Here’s the fix… Turn your computer off, unplug it, turn it over and remove the battery. Underneath the battery, there are two small philip’s head screws. Remove these screws and turn the computer back over. Open your laptop as wide as possible and now you can pop out the panel that the touch buttons are on. It takes a little wiggling, but pop it off from one side and then wiggle it to completely remove it. The panel is attached to the computer though a thin white strip that connects into a little “chip” on the underside of the panel. The tech told me to remove it, but I never could get it out. I jiggled it around some though, replaced the panel, put the screws and battery back in, fired up my beloved computer and now she works perfectly!!! It didn’t take any BIOS upgrades or anything else – just some cable wiggling! Hopefully this works for y’all too. Good luck! All in all it’s been a bad experience for me and I would
not purchase another Dell…
