Sony VAIO Z Series seems no way to buy it here unless you import the March EUR release. For $1800, this is pretty cheap IMO. But if you go for the full balls to the wall model with 1080p screen, blu-ray, etc, you will be paying $5-3k for this. The Vaio Z is offered with a Core i7 as well, I think it is the 640. Also- there is an extended battery available. The Sony’s nice, no doubt about it, but the cost is too high. Expensive but wow that looks nice. I really wish I could afford Sony VAIO Z Series. Lookup the dimensions the Sony Z is much lighter and even a bit smaller in volume than the 11x. The Z is definitely a premium over the MBP. If you want a sony to compare the MBP then you should look at the SR. All in all, brilliantly conceived but poorly executed. Let’s hope the build quality has improved, otherwise there is no way to justify that price.
